Drug Uses
This drug is basically recommended to quit smoking. It decreases the indomitable desire to smoke and nicotine cravings. It should be strictly used under the patient control program prescribed the doctor. Zyban with nicotine gum or skin patches must be preferred.

How to Take Drug
Zyban tablets are taken orally, twice a day. There is no compulsion of taking it after a meal it can be taken before also. The most important step is to swallow Zyban tablets rather than chewing, dividing or crushing it. Smoking has to be stopped compulsorily from the second week Zyban's dosage.

Drug Precautions
The applying of Zyban should be strictly according to the doctor's medication. The doctor should know before prescribing the patient this drug if he had previous history of addiction to alcohol, bipolar disorders, high blood pressure, kidney disease, head and heart disease, diabetes and eating disorders. The patient should not take Zyban if he has already used monoamine oxidase inhibitor in the last two weeks. In case of pregnant on nursing mothers, the patient should inform the doctor before takein Zyban.

Drug Interactions
Alcohol should not be used with Zyban since it increases the chances of seizures. Drugs like cocaine, doxercalciferol, phenytoin, corticosteroids, codeine, St. John's wort and Valeriana officinalis react with Zyban.

Adverse Effects with Zyban
The main side effects of Zyban are difficulty in breathing, confusion, seizures, vomiting and dizziness. It also causes hallucinations, increased blood pressures, irregular heart beat and skin rashes. Difficulty in sleeping and dry mouth are one the mild effects.

Missed Dose
In case of missing a day's dose of Zyban, an extra tablet should be taken urgently on remembering. But the tablet should be discarded if the next dose is less than four hours interval. Double and extra doses should be avoided at any cost.

Overdose
Over dosage of Zyban may lead way to symptoms like nausea and dizziness to occur. It also causes hallucinations, seizures, weakness and heart attack. This condition should be reported immediately to the doctor.

Storage
Zyban should be kept out the reach of children. It should be stored between twenty to twenty five degrees Celsius. Sunlight and moisture should be avoided. Zyban should be not be used after its expiry date.
