Generic Diflucan is used for treating:
- Candidiasis in Vagina (when Candida causes vaginal infection)
- Cryptococcal meningitis
- Esophageal and Oropharyngeal candidiasis
Again, it is also prescribed for patients suffering from candidiasis in individuals having transplants of bone marrow.
How to Take Generic Diflucan
Generic Diflucan comes in both liquid and tablet form and is to be taken once in a day. The directions for intake are given on the label and it should be followed carefully. You should be clear in your mind about the directions by consulting the pharmacists.
Take it in the manner directed. You should not miss or overdo the dose of the prescription. You should shake it well prior to every use for even mixing of medication. You should not stop the intake even if there is an improvement in the situation till your doctor says so.
- Pregnant women should consult their doctor prior to the intake as its effects on nursing women are yet not known
- Avoid taking alcohol while taking it or liver problem might creep in
- If you are having reduced kidney function, liver disorder or allergic reaction, you should opt for doctor consultation before usage
Women taking the pill should avert it if they are having cisapride in their medicine schedule. Cisapride is used for the treatment of acid reflux disease. However, its interaction with Generic Diflucan can lead to fatal conditions including heart problem.
Diflucan Side Effects
You should always know the side effects of the pills that you are consuming. Side effects involved with Generic Diflucan are:
- Changing color of your urine
- Irregular or indigestion in bowel movement
- Harsh rashes or allergic reactions
- Unusual bleeding
- Swelling in tongue, face or lip
- Yellowing in eyes
Minor side effects of the pill include dizziness, headache, fatigue, appetite loss, itching sensation or diarrhea.
Generic Diflucan is to be taken once within 24-hour gap. In case of missing them, try to take it whenever it comes in mind. However, you should avoid it and move to the regular schedule if the time for the next dose comes in.
You should opt for urgent attention from your physician if any of the overdose symptoms of the medication is noticed in you. Overdose symptoms of Generic Diflucan include hallucination, confusion, decreased movements, paranoia, tearing eye, decreased breathing, seizure, drooling, death and urinary incontinence. Although they might look insignificant in the earlier stage, it can take dangerous proportions with time.
The tablet can be stored at a temperature of around 86 degrees Fahrenheit. It should be kept away from freezing atmosphere. Again if the medication is exposed to high temperature of above 100 degrees Fahrenheit for short period, there will be no adverse effect on it. Like most drugs, it should be kept away from young family members.
